Day 6 Race : Second last day of Sailing Competition at Asian Games 2018
Today was second last day of sailing competition at Asian Games 2018. It was cooler day than yesterday with a gentle ocean breeze blowing from 12 to 15 knots. Perfect conditions for the races.
Tight competitions at some classes including in Laser Standard class and must wait for the final races to confirm the winner. However, in some class such as 470 Japan’s sailors secured gold medals both for men (Tetsuya Isozaki and Akira Takayanagi) and women (Ai Yoshida and Miho Yoshioka). Singapore’s pair Cecilia Low and Kimberly Lim for 49er FX women secured for gold medals as well. Sailing race typically use a “low point” scoring system.
Total 11 races completed since day 1. Total 7 protests also lodged today.
