Final Day : Sport of Sailing – 18th Asian Games 2018Marina – Ancol, Jakarta

It was the final day of sailing competition at Asian Games. Asian sailors were still full of enthusiasm to finish the game with their best. Last starting signal displayed at 13:00 after Friday prayer as scheduled. The venue was packed with people from media and VIP guests, also from medal ceremony team. While all sailors fighting at the waters, all committee, volunteers, protocol, and medal ceremony team were preparing for Medal Awarding Ceremony which would be held later today at 18:00.

Very tight competition today for some classes, while other classes already confirmed the winners. At the end of the competition, Japan athletes dominated gold medals from four classes out of ten classes. China won three gold medals, while the other three medals were won by Korea, Singapore, and Malaysia. Indonesia, however, was unable to win any medals in sailing. Indonesia’s best achievement was a fourth rank in the mixed RS One class, duo Nenni Marlini and Ridwan Ramadan.

Young Malaysian athlete Muhammad Fauzi Kaman Shah who won gold medal in the Laser Standard said his winning as the best gift to his country in conjunction with the 61st Malaysia National Day celebration today. Muhammad Fauzi also added that he loved being part of sailing competition at Asian Games. It was a great event organized by dedicated team of committees and volunteers, with the world class facilities venue.

Medal Awarding Ceremony at 18:00 marked the final day of the race. All winners received their medals and sailing competition at Asian Games 2018 came to its wonderful end.
